The best rooftop bar in London
As the lift doors open, before your eyes is a scene that could very well be out of Sex in the City. A Manhattan styled roof top bar with rattan furniture, Martinis, and probably the most stunning cocktail dress laid women, and suited and booted guys, that London has to offer – and of course me.
The sun sets over St Paul's Cathedral, Ibiza Sunset Chill plays in the background and the bar is bustling with trendy Londoners, chatting, laughing and socialising. There is an immediate energy and buzz about the place – this is one cool venue.

Madison’s Bar and Restaurant is beautifully located on the rooftop of the One New Change development in St Paul's, London. This modern high end development, directly opposite St Paul's Cathedral, houses brands like Pandora, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss and Jamie Oliver’s.
You access the bar via the glass walled elevator. On this particular evening, we were greeted by a broken lift and had to endure a 20 minute wait whilst the one lift transported all the guests to the rooftop. When we finally board the elevator and rise between the shops and away from the floor below; you soon realise it is worth the wait.

"Stresses fade away while sipping Cosmopolitans at this trendy roof top bar"

The high-ceilinged, industrial style restaurant housed a long bar and open kitchen at the rear, along with floor to ceiling glass. There are inviting sofas along the opposite side offering magnificent views of St Paul's and The Gherkin. We are to our table, and given menus. The food is very good, and fairly reasonable considering the venue. It's got a funky menu, Burgers, Dogs and Pulled Pork almost other dishes including steaks, all served in an upmarket and trendy style. Often you visit these high end venues that offer overpriced miniature meals which usually require a MD drive through on the way home. This is smart and sophisticated yet modern and trendy.
You can relax on the sofas after food with a bottle of wine. The restaurant will be bustling until late. The view of the illuminated dome of St Paul's Cathedral, surrounded by city lights, is the perfect backdrop to sit, relax and forget about work and stresses. You could sit here for hours. Madison’s have the perfect balance of bar and restaurant, smart and casual, stylish yet funky. For me, a trip to London is not complete without a trip to Madison’s; stresses fade away, worries are forgotten about while sipping Cosmopolitans at this trendy roof top bar – you can escape at Madison’s.
